Samsung Teams Up with Perplexity AI to Boost Smartphone Intelligence
Samsung partners with U.S.-based Perplexity AI to integrate cutting-edge AI tools into its Galaxy smartphones, potentially replacing Google Gemini.
Samsung is making a big move in the world of smartphone AI by teaming up with U.S. startup Perplexity AI. This partnership hints that Samsung might start moving away from relying on Google’s Gemini assistant for its future Galaxy phones.
Sources say Samsung is looking to weave Perplexity AI’s technology deeply into everything—from its built-in apps and web browser to the operating system and even the Bixby voice assistant. If all goes well, we could see this new AI integration as soon as late 2025, possibly alongside the launch of the Galaxy S26 next year.
A Samsung spokesperson shared, “Our goal is to deliver AI that feels personal, helpful, and fits naturally into the Samsung experience.”
This move is seen as a smart strategy by Samsung to expand its AI toolkit and lessen its dependence on Google. Perplexity AI is known for its quick, search-based generative AI that could make Samsung devices smarter at answering questions, recalling information instantly, and understanding context better.
More tech giants are trying to take control of the AI experience on their devices, and Samsung is no exception. If this partnership works out, Samsung’s smartphones might become more independent, faster at delivering useful info, and less reliant on cloud-based assistants.
